Survey Your Way!
If your organization is primarily interested in finding out how it stacks up against the year's Best Employers, you can choose a shorter, quicker version of the study -- the Streamlined option. However, if you'd like to benchmark your organization and get in-depth insight into what's influencing your employees' engagement, consider the Regular option.
Please note that these survey options are only available to participants in the Best Employers in Canada study and not to participants in the Best Small & Medium Employers in Canada study. Participants in the Best Small & Medium Employers study use the Regular survey instruments.
Survey Option #1: Streamlined
- Benchmarking Against the Very Best-All participants, regardless of ranking, receive a complimentary online report profiling the organization's survey results against the only national Canadian database of Best Employers information. Other studies purport to identify the best practices of great employers. We believe that statistically sound opinions of actual employees outweigh the opinions of a small group of experts.
Survey Option #2: Regular
- Greater Depth of Knowledge. The Regular option is our standard engagement survey. This version is valued by the growing number of organizations that are using the annual Best Employers study as their primary employee survey. It provides the depth of information they need to take follow-up action to improve employee engagement levels within their organization.
All participants, whether one of the 50 Best Employers or not, obtain the following benefits from participating in the annual Best Employers study:

Opportunities for Comprehensive Surveying. Participants have the option to survey all employees. There are fees to cover the costs of paper survey administration (if required), but there is no fee for surveying any number of employees online.
Participants may also choose to survey employees by department/subgroup (location, line of business, etc.). If so, Hewitt will need to know in advance so the appropriate data can be captured. There is no cost for collecting data in this manner, though there is a fee for receiving subgroup results in addition to the overall report.
